The Spanish lyric coloratura soprano\u00a0Mireia Castells began her music career as a violinist. She has completed her studies at the Municipal Conservatory of Music of Barcelona in violin (at Erika Gallov\u00e0) and solo singing (at M. \u00c0ngels Sarroca and Salvador Parr\u00f3n).<\/span><\/p>\n Following several years of singing at the Youth Choire Palau de la M\u00fasica of Barcelona, including concert tours through Europe, she has since continued her training in regular master classes at renown artists, including, the tenor Jaume Aragall and the sopranos Carmen Bustamante and Fiorenza Cedolins. Driven by her love to the Vienna Opera, she moved to Vienna in 2015, where she refined her vocal technique with the soprano Regina Renzowa and the tenor Bojidar Nikolov.<\/span><\/p>\n Her first performance was in the role of Susanna from Le Nozze di Figaro<\/i> (W.A. Mozart) at the Opera Studio in Barcelona in 2013\/14. In 2015\/16 she gave her impressive debut as Adele in the operetta Die Fledermaus <\/i>(J. Strauss), directed by Robert Simma and Elena Gertcheva (as musical director). In the 2016\/2017 season, Mireia convinced in her role as K\u00f6nigin der Nacht in the opera Die Zauberfl\u00f6te <\/i>(W.A.Mozart), which was performed under the same direction in Vienna and several other Austrian locations. This season (2018\/19), the soprano tours Germany and Austria as K\u00f6nigin der Nacht in a new production of Die Zauberfl\u00f6te<\/i>. Further plans include her role debut as Musetta in the opera La Boh\u00e8me <\/i>(G.Puccini) in Palau de la M\u00fasica Catalana of Barcelona.<\/span><\/p>\n She has interpreted the following additional roles: Zerlina (Don Giovanni, <\/i>W.A Mozart), Blonde (Die Entf\u00fchrung aus dem Serail<\/i>, W.A. Mozart), Olympia (Les Contes d\u2019Hoffmann, <\/i>Offenbach) and Oscar (Un Ballo in Maschera, <\/i>Verdi). <\/i>She\u00a0embraces\u00a0a comprehensive\u00a0repertoire of oratorios which include: The Matth\u00e4us-Passion <\/i>(J.S. Bach), the Johannes-Passion<\/i> (J.S. Bach), The Messiah <\/i>(G.F.\u00a0<\/i>H\u00e4ndel), Mass in C-minor <\/i>(W.A.Mozart),\u00a0 The Creation <\/i>(J. Haydn) <\/i>and Requiem <\/i>(G. Faur\u00e9). <\/i><\/span><\/p>\n Mireia Castells was a finalist at several international singing competitions \u2013 including the XVII Youth Singing Competition Arjau <\/i>of 2012 in Barcelona and the XXIV Josep Mirabent i Magrans Competition <\/i>of 2018 in Barcelona.<\/span><\/p>\n Mireia is particularly gifted in identifying herself with her roles and in interpreting them powerfully and yet empathetically. She has captivated her audience\u00a0with her pleasantly bright and touching voice at various opera and song concerts throughout Spain and Austria.
